What We Offer

Flea/tick/heartworm prevention

A veterinarian and a woman in a white sweater standing with a golden retriever dog at a veterinary clinic. The dog is seated on the exam table and they are all near a large window with an outdoor view.

Fleas, ticks, and heartworms pose serious health risks to pets and can affect your home and family as well. Preventative care is the safest and most effective way to protect dogs and cats from discomfort, disease, and costly treatments. At South Corona Animal Hospital, we recommend year‑round prevention tailored to your pet’s lifestyle, health status, and regional parasite risks. Regular use of veterinarian‑recommended flea/tick and heartworm preventives, combined with routine wellness exams and parasite screening, helps keep your pet healthy and your household protected.

Wellness Exams

A veterinary wellness exam is a routine checkup to assess your pet’s overall health and catch problems early. It typically includes:

  • Review of medical history, diet, behavior, and any concerns

  • Full physical exam (weight, temperature, heart and lung auscultation, eyes, ears, mouth, skin, coat, palpation of abdomen, joints, lymph nodes)

  • Preventive care updates (vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention)

  • Parasite screening and routine lab work as indicated (fecal exam, bloodwork, urinalysis)

  • Dental assessment and recommendations for oral care

  • Nutritional, behavioral, and lifestyle counseling tailored to your pet’s age and needs

  • Development of a follow-up plan or treatment if issues are found

Wellness exams are recommended at least once a year for adult pets and more frequently for puppies, kittens, and senior animals to ensure long-term health and early intervention.
